Forvia plans to support Great Wall Motor in its overseas expansion by drawing on its international manufacturing and engineering network, together with expertise spanning seating, clean mobility, electronics, and lighting.
The collaboration aims to speed the development of “safer, smarter and more sustainable mobility” solutions.
Great Wall Motor COO and chief supply chain officer Zhao Guoqing added: “Having a partner that both understands the Chinese market and brings global industrial footprint and technology depth is essential to Great Wall Motor’s global development.”
Forvia includes the technology and industrial operations of Faurecia and Hella.
The company became the global umbrella brand and corporate group following Faurecia’s acquisition of a controlling stake in German lighting and electronics specialist Hella in January 2022.
In February that year, Faurecia and Hella introduced the Forvia name after the acquisition was completed.
The group employs more than 137,500 people, including over 12,000 R&D engineers, in more than 40 countries.
Forvia reported consolidated revenue of €26.2bn ($29.33bn) in 2025.
Forvia CEO Martin Fischer said: “By combining Great Wall Motor’s growth ambitions with Forvia’s technology leadership, industrial footprint and local-for-local execution model, we are creating a platform for long-term growth and innovation across the world’s key automotive markets.”
Earlier this month, Forvia agreed to establish an automotive seating joint venture in India with Anand Group, with a target of approximately 10% market share within five years.
The proposed company, Faurecia Anand Seating India Private Limited, will make seat frames and fully assembled seats.
