Scania has introduced the Super 11 engine, an engine it describes as an innovation in the 11-litre segment, enhancing performance and flexibility.
Positioned between the 9-litre and 13-litre platforms, the Super 11 offers up to 7% improved fuel efficiency compared to Scania’s 9-litre engine and is 85kg lighter than the Super 13.
The Super 11 will be available in three performance steps: 350hp (1,800Nm), 390hp (2,000 Nm), and 430hp (2,200Nm).
It will comply with Euro 4, 5, and 6 emission standards, making it suitable for various transport applications, from urban logistics to regional haulage.
The engine will be available for purchase from June 2025.
Sharing 85% of its components with the Super 13 engine, the Super 11 maintains Scania’s engineering DNA while offering a tailored operational fit.

By GlobalDataScania Trucks Sales and Marketing product manager Ayyoob Zarmehri said: “This engine opens new possibilities for energy-efficient and cost-effective transport. It’s lighter, leaner and more flexible, yet it still carries the strength and reliability for which Scania is known. It’s a smart choice for operators who need to balance performance, payload and sustainability in their daily work.”
Maintenance intervals for the Super 11 are up to 30% longer than Scania’s 9-litre engines when using LDF-5 engine oil, increasing uptime and reducing service costs.
The engine will feature Scania’s cam phaser technology for variable valve timing, improving combustion performance and engine thermal management.
New engine software, balance shafts, and a robust engine brake will enhance the driving experience.
Scania’s patented turbo dosing system will improve AdBlue usage, further enhancing engine efficiency.
The company said Super 11’s fuel efficiency and lightweight design will contribute to its sustainability credentials.
It will also be compatible with HVO and FAME, allowing operators to lower emissions without new infrastructure investments, supporting both operational and sustainability goals.
The Super 11 is designed for diverse transport operations, including tipper and bulk transport, fuel and volume goods transport, refuse collection, temperature-controlled transport, general cargo, hooklift and flatbed with crane, recovery, and fire engines.
