Tesla plans to resume shipping components from China to the US for Cybercab and Semi truck production by the end of this month, reported Reuters, citing a source with direct knowledge of the matter.
This development follows a recent truce between the US and China over tariffs.
The decision highlights the immediate impact of the trade de-escalation between the two largest global economies, following discussions in Geneva over the weekend.
Last month, Tesla halted plans to ship components due to a tariff increase to 145% by US President Donald Trump, which threatened to disrupt Tesla’s production plans for these models.
The truce announced on Monday involves the US and China agreeing to roll back most tariffs and countermeasures.
However, the source noted the situation remains fluid due to the unpredictable nature of the Trump administration. Tesla has not yet commented on the matter.

The Cybercab will be produced in Texas, while the Semi will be manufactured in Nevada.
Tesla has also been seeking state approvals for a robotaxi service using Cybercabs without steering wheels or control pedals, planning to start production by 2026 at a price below $30,000.
In addition, Tesla intends to increase Semi truck production in 2026 and accelerate deliveries to customers like PepsiCo.
The tariffs, initially intended to boost US manufacturing, have negatively impacted Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a proponent of free trade. Musk has expressed his opposition to tariffs and advocated for lower tariffs to President Trump.
In April, Tesla reported a 20% decline in first-quarter revenues for 2025, with total automotive revenues at $13.97bn compared to $17.38bn in the same period the previous year.
