Starting next year, Ford Electric Vehicle customers will have access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America, the companies’ CEOs have said in a surprise announcement.
In a further move to integrate Tesla’s technology into Ford’s product, the Tesla plug, known as the North American Charging Standard (NACS) will be added to Ford’s EVs in 2025.

The deal follows closely after Ford CEO Jim Farley spoke of the need for more automakers to collaborate during the Morgan Stanley Sustainable Finance Summit this week.
It was first revealed in an online Twitter Spaces conversation.
“We love the locations, we love the reliability, your routing software, the ease of use of the connector, the reliability of it,” Farley said during the conversation, Reuters reports.
Speaking on the news, Jim Farley, Ford’s CEO said: “Widespread access to fast-charging is absolutely vital to our growth as an EV brand, and this breakthrough agreement comes as we are ramping up production of our popular Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning, and preparing to launch a series of next-generation EVs starting in 2025.”

The BlueOval Charge Network is already North America’s largest public charging network with over 84,000 chargers including access to over 10,000 public DC fast-chargers.
