Zoomcar opens Chennai fulfilment centre

Operated by third party service providers

Dani Cole August 12 2024

India’s Zoomcar said it had launched its first fulfilment centre in Chennai with plans to add around 100 centres and 1,000 cars by December this year.

The firm was founded in 2013 headquartered in Bengaluru and is a leading marketplace for car sharing.

Fulfilment centres are operated by third party service providers managing end to end operations of car listings.

People who wish to share their car are called hosts and pay a nominal fee to get a number of services from these centres such as managing their car, regular cleaning and parking spaces at popular locations.

Riders who use the service have access to 24/7 pick up and drop off services.

Hiroshi Nishijima, CEO of Zoomcar said: "With our decade long experience we wanted to extend our expertise to hosts to simplify car sharing for them and help manage their cars without any operational hassle.”
