The Geely-owned Zeekr brand has announced that it has signed an agreement with Malaysian EV charging network operator Handal Green Mobility Sdn Bhd (DC Handal), to provide its customers with access to a wider network of high-speed charging stations across Malaysia.
The Chinese battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturer’s Malaysian unit, Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia, said it has agreed to use DC Handal’s existing network of direct current (DC) fast-charging stations located on key transport routes across Malaysia.
The two companies also plan to work together to expand the available charging network, as Zeekr looks to strengthen its Malaysian aftersales ecosystem, with an initial seven new charging stations scheduled to be built along the North-South Expressway corridor. Each site will have at least two charging points with a minimum capacity of 120kW.
DC Handal currently operates around 250 charging points across the country, located mostly on major highways and in urban areas.
Zeekr entered the Malaysian market at the end of 2024 and has so far sold over 4,000 BEVs in the country. Its partnership with DC Handal is expected to support the wider adoption of BEVs in Malaysia. The company’s general manager for Malaysia, Eddy Lu, told reporters that “this collaboration with DC Handal allows us to enhance our Zeekr Power ecosystem by expanding access to high-quality charging infrastructure at key locations.”
