Zeekr claims EV battery charging record

007 sedan first with upgraded LFP prismatic batteries

Dani Cole August 14 2024

Chinese EV maker Zeeker claimed its new batteries could be charged from 10% to 80% capacity in 10.5 minutes.

The 2025 007 sedan would be the first model to carry the upgraded LFP prismatic batteries, with deliveries expected to begin next week.

The automaker also claimed the battery performed well in cold weather charging from 10% to 80% in less than half an hour at temperatures as low as -10C.

The new charging speed record was enabled when connected to Zeekr V3 ultra-fast charging piles.

The automaker has opened 500 ultra fast charging stations in China with 2,700 charging piles, all of which can support 800V charging.

It planned to expand the network to 1,000 stations this year and would be operating 10,000 piles in 2026.
