Wind River says it has developed a web-based development platform in partnership with Hyundai Mobis, the main automotive parts division of Hyundai Motor Group.

The integrated software development environment, dubbed Mobis Development Studio, is engineered to support the innovation of software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

Mobis Development Studio integrates the cloud-based vehicle development infrastructure of Hyundai Mobis with Wind River's cloud-based DevSecOps platform, “Studio Developer”.

Wind River, a unit of Aptiv, said that the unified platform offers a user-friendly interface, customised for various electronic control units (ECUs), as well as rapid build capabilities and automated testing tools.

The platform is said to be designed to support software lifecycle management, which is anticipated to elevate software quality and development efficiency.

For Hyundai Mobis, the advancement is viewed as a step in its transition towards becoming a software-centric mobility technology enterprise.

Hyundai Mobis automotive electronics BU head and executive vice president Soo-Kyung Jung said: “Through this collaboration with Wind River, we expect to significantly enhance automation across the entire vehicle development lifecycle and accelerate innovation in next-generation intelligent vehicle software development.

“This development environment is not only highly automated but is also rapidly expanding into an AI-driven next-generation development system.”

Wind River Studio Developer's collaboration tools, automation frameworks, and shift-left testing modules are integrated into the development environment. These features are designed to allow for earlier validation in the development process.

The aligned development methodologies between the companies’ teams aim to expedite automotive systems’ design, development, and deployment.

Additionally, the partnership seeks to ensure scalable delivery throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.

Wind River chief product officer Sandeep Modhvadia said: “In collaboration with Hyundai Mobis, we have introduced a next-generation development framework that spans both cloud and edge environments and delivers robust lifecycle management.

“Together, we are empowering automakers to innovate faster, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate the future of the software-defined vehicle.”

In June 2025, Hyundai Mobis Company unveiled a new driver assist feature that aids in improving highway safety.
