Sweden-based automaker Volvo Cars has confirmed that it has finalised an agreement with its parent company, Geely Auto, to become the exclusive distributor for its Lynk & Co new energy vehicle (NEV) brand in Europe, starting in January 2027. Lynk & Co sells a range of hybrid and battery electric vehicles (BEVs), so far mostly in China.

Volvo Cars and Geely are moving forward after signing a preliminary agreement at the end of March, with Volvo scheduled to become responsible for the Lynk & Co’s commercial operations across Europe from the beginning of next year. Volvo said it will “leverage its established commercial infrastructure, including Volvo Cars’ retailers and its service network, to distribute Lynk & Co vehicles across the region.”

Volvo Cars confirmed that it will maintain “clear brand differentiation” with Lynk & Co, while “increasing the overall sales and servicing business for Volvo Cars’ retail partners, by offering a true complement to Volvo Cars’ product line-up to broaden the total consumer base. It will also strengthen Lynk & Co’s market presence and improve customer access across Europe and ultimately support the brand’s continued growth.”

Volvo Cars’ chief commercial officer, Erik Severinson, said in a statement: “This partnership brings together Volvo Cars’ established commercial infrastructure and Lynk & Co’s distinctive brand and product proposition. This agreement enables Volvo Cars and our retail partners to reach more customers with a broader and differentiated portfolio of cars and through increased sales and service opportunities.”

Lynk & Co International’s CEO, Mo Wang, added, “We will work closely with Volvo Cars to turn this partnership into sustainable long-term growth.”

Volvo Cars confirmed that the company’s business with Lynk & Co will be led by Martin Persson, reporting directly to Erik Severinson. The company added that “while Volvo Cars will oversee commercial operations in Europe, Lynk & Co will continue to design, develop, and certify its global product portfolio as part of the Geely Auto Group and preserve its core brand values of being trendy, vibrant, and personal.

This partnership marks a strategic shift for Lynk & Co in Europe, transitioning to a more scalable retail approach through Volvo's established network. By leveraging Volvo's European dealers and service points, Lynk & Co aims to accelerate its market expansion and reach a broader customer base.”
