Green SM (Green Smart Mobility), the ride-hailing and taxi service subsidiary of Vietnam's Vingroup, has announced that it has signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and deposit agreements with 75 transport companies and cooperatives in the Philippines, which plan to deploy a combined fleet of up to 18,497 VinFast battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for passenger transport operations across the country this year.

Vingroup, the parent company of VinFast, said “the agreements represent the next phase of Green SM’s expansion strategy in the Philippines, through a partnership model that combines Green SM’s technology platform and operational standards with local market expertise and deployment capabilities.”

The partner transport companies and cooperatives operate in a wide number of provinces and cities across the Philippines, including Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao - markets that “continue to experience strong mobility demand alongside accelerating adoption of cleaner and more efficient urban transport solutions.” They plan to acquire the VinFast BEVs through a combination of direct investment and long-term lease arrangements, including VinFast VF 5/Herio Green and Limo Green contracts optimized for ride-hailing and passenger transport operations. These companies are expected to complete vehicle orders and begin phased operations throughout 2026.
