Vietnamese battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturer VinFast Auto announced that its domestic light passenger vehicle sales surged by 58% year-on-year to 17,955 units in June 2026, up from 11,382 units in the same month last year. The company remains the main driver of growth in its domestic market, while also leading the sales of zero-emission vehicles.

VinFast’s sales last month were driven by strong demand for its Limo Green model, which is sold mainly as a taxi and for other public transportation purposes. Demand was also strong for the VF3 and VF5 models, which are sold mainly as private vehicles.

In the first six months of the year, the company sold a total of 115,916 vehicles in Vietnam, up by 72% compared with 67,569 units in the same period last year. The Green Limo was its best-selling model with 27,927 deliveries, followed by the VF3 with 23,781 units, the VF5 and Herio Green models with 20,167, the VF6 with 14,045, the MPV 7 with 9,177 units, and the VF7 with 6,849 units.

Earlier this month, VinFast launched a new entry-level model, the VF 2, a small electric city car priced at US$ 7,150. Deliveries to customers are expected to begin in September.
