Valeo, a provider of automotive lighting systems, has partnered with TactoTek, a developer of in-mold structural electronics (IMSE) technology, to enhance vehicle lighting systems.
This partnership will see Valeo integrate TactoTek's IMSE technology to offer interior and exterior lighting solutions for original equipment manufacturer (OEMs) and personalisation options for consumers.
Valeo LIGHT Division CEO Maurizio Martinelli said: “Around the world, OEMs are redefining their use of lighting as their clients ask for more ADAS, differentiation and communication. To meet these new needs, our lighting solutions evolve from lines to surface, with a higher number of LED sources.
“With Valeo expertise and in-mold structural electronics (IMSE) lighting platforms, we have the tools to transform lighting design to offer new personalisation experience and more safety on the roads.”
The partnership will combine Valeo's expertise in over-molding processes and optical systems with TactoTek's innovative IMSE technology to develop lighting functions that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also contribute to vehicle safety.
The technology can provide visual feedback for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), such as alerting drivers to the presence of a vehicle in a blind spot or during emergency braking.

TactoTek's IMSE technology is designed to allow the integration of electronic components into 3D injection-moulded polymer structures, granting designers the freedom to innovate.
This technology provides design versatility and promotes environmental sustainability by requiring fewer parts and less plastic compared to traditional manufacturing methods, Valeo said.
In January 2025, Valeo inaugurated a new facility in Changshu, China.
Managed by Valeo New Energy Lighting (Changshu) Company, the plant focuses on developing smart cabin and lighting products for new energy vehicles (NEVs) and is expected to supply to automakers like Geely Auto.
