Suzuki Motor, a Japanese multinational mobility manufacturer, has partnered with Tata Elxsi, a technology and design services provider, to launch the Suzuki-Tata Elxsi offshore development Centre in Pune.

This centre is set to become a hub for Suzuki's innovation strategy, that will focus on connected, autonomous, shared, and electric technologies.

The collaboration will prioritise the development of next-generation powertrains and software-defined vehicles.

It will look to foster “energy-efficient” solutions for electric, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles.

Suzuki expects this initiative to enhance its capabilities in creating sustainable and advanced mobility solutions.

Suzuki chief technology officer Katsuhiro Kato said: "As the industry progresses in Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric technologies, Suzuki must accelerate electronic and virtual development to meet evolving demands. Tata Elxsi's expertise in advanced computing, simulation, and design digital makes them an ideal partner in bringing forward-thinking solutions to market.

“This strategic and long-term partnership incorporates Suzuki's endeavour of minimising energy and enables India's talent to actively contribute to our development efforts globallyz."

Under the agreement, Tata Elxsi will support Suzuki's green mobility vision. It will align with Suzuki's goals for sustainable innovation, particularly in lightweight design, safety, styling, and engineering.

Additionally, the partnership will explore innovations in using eco-friendly materials and advanced simulations.
