Stellantis Malaysia announced that it has begun local assembly of Chinese automaker Leapmotor’s C10 and B10 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) at its Gurun plant in Kedah State, as part of its “long-term commitment to expanding localised manufacturing, driving local EV industrialisation, and making advanced, innovative electric mobility accessible to Malaysians.”

The wholly-owned subsidiary of global automaker Stellantis BV confirmed that it has invested EUR 5.3 million to install local production equipment at the Gurun plant for the two models, including production line and infrastructure upgrades.

The C10 model is powered by a 69.9 kWh battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 218 hp, providing a driving range of up to 424 km on a full charge. The B10, based on Leapmotor's LEAP3.5 architecture, features a 67.1 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 434 km on a single charge.

Stellantis noted that Leapmotor’s global vehicle deliveries surged by 81% to a record 103,129 vehicles in August 2026, making it a top-four global passenger new energy vehicle (NEV) brand and a top-three Chinese NEV brand.
