Stellantis appoints new Jeep CEO

Antonio Filosa to take over as Jeep CEO

Dani Cole October 02 2023

Antonia Filosa, the current Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis South America has been announced as the new CEO for Jeep.

He will replace Christian Meunier, who will take “a long break to focus on personal interests” Stellantis said in statement.

The move comes after Jeep, described as the “mother of all SUVs” has experienced a fall in sales and rising inventory levels.

In 2018, Jeep sold over 900,000 vehicles. In 2022, it sold 684, 600. Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) – part of Stellantis – had been involved in a protracted legal dispute with Mahindra, when the Indian automaker unveiled its Roxor SUV in 2018. FCA accused Mahindra of copying design elements of its ‘iconic’ Jeep.

The leadership changes will be effective from 1 November 2023.
