Sony Semiconductor Solutions has adopted rFpro's AV elevate simulation platform to showcase its forthcoming camera sensor technologies.
The company plans to use the sensors for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated driving applications.
rFpro's advanced platform is specifically designed for the tuning, training, and testing of ADAS and autonomous vehicle (AV) perception systems.
AV elevate facilitates the generation of engineering-grade synthetic training data and supports closed-loop testing across the entire ADAS and AV technology stack.
Sony intends to leverage AV elevate to demonstrate the performance and capabilities of its technologies prior to the production of any physical prototypes.

The announcement follows a successful technical collaboration between Sony and rFpro, initially revealed in 2023, which concentrated on the integration of high-fidelity sensor models into rFpro’s simulation software.
The partnership “enhanced” the accuracy of virtual sensor development and testing, thereby decreasing the industry's dependence on real-world data collection.
