Skoda Auto has launched series production of the all-electric seven-seater Peaq at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav.
The largest model in Skoda’s portfolio will be built on the same line as the Elroq, Enyaq and combustion-engined Octavia, ‘demonstrating the efficiency and flexibility of the production process’.
Together with the Epiq, produced in Pamplona, Spain, the Peaq doubles Skoda’s all-electric portfolio in 2026.
In the first half of 2026, almost 23% of the vehicles produced at the carmaker’s Czech plants were fully electric.
Skoda says the Peaq has attracted strong interest since its market launch in June; by the end of July, the carmaker had received almost 8,500 orders. In its top specification, the Peaq is equipped with the largest traction battery ever installed in a Skoda vehicle. With a gross capacity of 91 kWh, it offers a range of over 640 kilometres, according to Skoda.
Sk0da Auto also produces the advanced battery systems for the Peaq at its new assembly plant in Mladá Boleslav.
Skoda Auto Chief Production Officer Andreas Dick said: “The new Skoda Peaq represents the pinnacle of our range in terms of comfort, spaciousness and technology, while its production also meets the most stringent standards of quality, efficiency and flexibility.
“Producing four models – three of them fully electric – on a single line clearly demonstrates the skill and versatility of our team in Mladá Boleslav.”
Production flexibility across two plants
The Skoda Peaq is the fourth model currently built on the production line at the company’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav. Originally designed for combustion-engine vehicles, the line has since undergone extensive upgrades to accommodate fully electric models. The Enyaq was the first electric vehicle to enter production there in 2020, followed by the Elroq in January 2025 and now the Peaq.
The three fully electric models are built alongside the combustion-engine Octavia Combi. Since May this year, the Octavia Combi has also been produced at the Kvasiny plant, together with the Octavia liftback. This, the brand says, allows Skoda Auto to respond to market demand and disruptions to global supply chains by flexibly adjusting the production mix between Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny.
The move has also freed up capacity at the Mladá Boleslav plant for increasingly popular electric vehicles, which accounted for almost 23% of all Skoda vehicles produced at the company’s Czech plants in the first half of 2026.
Production line adapted for the brand’s largest model
The Peaq is the largest vehicle Skoda Auto has produced since it joined the Volkswagen Group. Accommodating it on the existing line required significant engineering work: new, larger production skids were introduced to improve ergonomics and workplace safety, and a new manipulator was added to fit the third row of seats.
The press shop, body shop and paint shop all underwent targeted upgrades to maintain the smooth flow of materials throughout the production process. The Peaq shares the Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) platform with the Enyaq and Elroq, enabling production synergies with both models already built in Mladá Boleslav.
