PPAP Automotive has signed a technology partnership with France-based Hutchinson to manufacture advanced body sealing systems for passenger vehicles in India.
Under the agreement, PPAP will manufacture, market and sell specified automotive sealing products in India using Hutchinson’s technology, licensed know-how and technical support.
Production will take place at PPAP’s existing facilities in the country.
PPAP Automotive managing director & CEO Abhishek Jain said: “By combining Hutchinson’s global expertise with PPAP’s strong manufacturing presence and customer relationships in India, we aim to deliver future ready, innovative, high-quality body-sealing solutions that meet the evolving requirements of automotive OEMs.”
The company said it has obtained an exclusive licence for India for the manufacture, marketing and sale of designated automotive sealing products developed through Hutchinson’s technology and expertise.
As part of the partnership, Hutchinson will provide technical know-how, engineering assistance, design support, process-related guidance and other services for product development and commercialisation.
The agreement became effective on 1 April 2026.
PPAP will make payments linked to the transfer of technical know-how, licensed technology and related technical support services.
The company will also pay royalties for the use of licensed intellectual property, designs, know-how and associated rights under the agreement.
According to the company’s disclosure, Hutchinson generated revenue of approximately €5bn ($5.76bn) in 2025.
PPAP said the collaboration is expected to expand its automotive sealing systems offering, provide access to advanced technology and engineering capabilities, strengthen support for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India, and create additional growth opportunities in the passenger vehicle segment.
