Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company’s main Chinese joint venture, has launched the all-new NX8 mid-size electrified SUV in the Chinese market, ahead of the Auto China 2026 exhibition (Beijing Auto Show), which gets underway on 24 April.

The NX8 is the third Nissan model developed specifically for the Chinese market, following the recent launch of the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan and the N7 mid-size battery-electric sedan. The automaker said the NX8 was developed under the concept of “an ideal SUV for every family, offering a high level of comfort, advanced technology and safety performance” with a wide range of convenience, comfort and safety features as standard across all grades.

The NX8 comes with two 800V-based powertrain options, including a battery electric vehicle (BEV) system and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) system. The BEV model is already on sale and is offered in three variants, including the 580 Pro, 580 Max and 650 Max, the latter offering a maximum driving range of up to 650 km. Ultra-fast 5C charging allows the CATL batteries to “recover” approximately 300 km of driving range in just six minutes, according to the company.

The REEV range, which will be available from May, also comes in three variants, including the 150 Pro, 150 Max and 310 Max. The 310 Max provides up to 310 km of BEV-only driving and a total combined driving range of up to 1,450 km. Fuel consumption in gasoline-only mode is just over 4.5 liters per 100 km.

The interior comes with dual 15.6-inch displays, the Nissan OS 2.0 operating system with AI voice assistant, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chipset with 256 GB storage, and augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD).
