Japanese automaker Nissan Motor announced that its Chinese joint venture, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), has launched the new N6 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) family sedan, following the model’s preview in October.

Nissan confirmed that the N6 is the company’s first PHEV sedan to be launched in China, and the first model to be built on the Tianyan Architecture – featuring Dongfeng Nissan’s latest new energy vehicle (NEV) technologies. It is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a high-capacity 21.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, which can be charged in 20 minutes.

Nissan said the N6 achieves a fuel efficiency of “sub-2L/100 km in charge-sustaining mode,” while its fully-charged batteries provide a range of up to 180 km in full EV mode.

The N6 comes with the company’s in-house Cloud Comfort Cabin infotainment system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 automotive-grade chip, featuring a 15.6-inch ultra-clear 2.5K screen interface combined with the AI-based Xiao Ni voice assistant, iFlytek’s Spark, and DeepSeek. The system supports multiple Chinese dialects and voice options, and can recognize requests from any seating position in the car.

The N6 is also equipped with a customized end-to-end advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) developed in collaboration with Momenta that supports driving in a variety of conditions such as highway journeys, city driving, and parking.

The car is offered in five grades, including the 180 Air, 180 Pro, 180 Max, 180 Max+, and the flagship 170 Max+, with prices ranging between CNY 100,000 and CNY 130,000 (US$ 14,140 – US$ 18,385).
