South Korean technology firm Naver Corporation announced at the 2026 Busan Mobility Show that it has agreed to expand its partnership with Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) by integrating its AI-based internet services into the automaker's next-generation ‘Pleos Connect’ infotainment system.

The new agreement provides HMG access to Naver’s key internet services, including the Naver App, Naver Maps, and the Whale Browser, on its Pleos Connect next-generation infotainment system. The first Hyundai models to adopt the new generation Pleos Connect, the new Grandeur and the all-new Avante sedans, were unveiled at the 2026 Busan Mobility Show last week.

Naver confirmed that “starting with the new Grandeur, the two companies plan to expand their cooperation with the integration of Naver’s AI-based innovative mobility experiences into HMG’s Pleos Connect, followed by the all-new Avante which is scheduled to go on sale within the year.”

Naver said that with new Pleos Connect, users “can access the Naver App (Naver Auto App), Naver Maps, and Whale Browser, which have been optimized for the mobility environment. A key feature of the new platform is that the mobile experience of searching for information, consuming content, receiving location recommendations, and getting directions continues seamlessly inside the vehicle.”

The Naver Auto App provides personalised essential information and content based on the driver's schedule, interests, and current location, while the enhanced Naver Maps allows drivers to quickly access key driving information without the need for separate operations, such as connecting to CarPlay. On the main screen, users can view their estimated time of arrival, nearby gas stations, and driving scores at a glance, as well as discover nearby restaurants worth visiting and available coupons. The Whale browser allows drivers to access a variety of web-based services and content optimized for the vehicle environment.

Naver’s CEO, Choi Soo-yeon, said in a statement: “Just as Naver made available various new daily experiences on smartphones, such as searches, local services, shopping, and content, we intend to provide new experiences within the mobility ecosystem in cooperation with HMG. As vehicles evolve beyond a simple means of transportation into platforms that create new value, by naturally connecting users’ daily lives and digital experiences, we plan to expand our partnership with HMG based on Naver’s diverse service know-how and technological capabilities.”
