Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corporation reported a 22% decline in global production to 66,161 vehicles in September 2025, down from 84,563 units in the same month last year. Production in Japan dropped by almost 33% to 28,504 units, while overseas output declined by 11% to 37,657 units.
Sales in Japan declined by 5.5% to 11,171 units in September, reflecting a sharp drop in minicar sales, while exports fell by almost 10% to 16,075 units, with shipments to North America down by 20% to 5,796 units.
In the first nine months of 2025, Mitsubishi produced 642,520 vehicles globally, down by over 9% compared with 705,625 units in the same period last year. Domestic output declined by over 6% to 334,338 units, while overseas production fell by almost 12% to 308,182 units. Sales in Japan rose by 3.2% to 91,125 units in this period, while exports fell by almost 7% to 159,895 units.
