Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), controlled by the newly established holding company Archion Corporation, has announced that it met its target of achieving carbon neutrality at all its production sites in Japan in 2025. Carbon neutrality is achieved when net greenhouse gas emissions are zero or less after reductions, removals, and offsetting measures are taken into account.

The Japanese truckmaker confirmed that it achieved carbon neutrality at its Kawasaki, Nakatsu, and Toyama vehicle production facilities, as well as at its Pabco truck body plant in Sagami.

MFTBC said it has steadily implemented CO2 reduction measures across its production operations in Japan over a period of years, including transitioning to renewable energy-based electricity through the installation of on-site solar power generation systems and various energy-efficiency initiatives in manufacturing processes.

MFTBC said that its efforts to significantly cut emissions at its production facilities have been recognised by internationally recognized management systems, including ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management. Through these two management systems, MFTBC promotes continuous improvements in environmental performance, energy efficiency, and responsible resource utilization across production operations.

MFTBC achieved carbon neutrality in 2025 and in the first quarter of 2026 through a combination of emissions reduction measures and the procurement of carbon credits, with “unavoidable CO₂ emissions being compensated through certified carbon credits after efforts had been made to reduce emissions at source.”
