Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that it began assembling its CX-30 compact SUV in Indonesia on 29 July 2026, as the Japanese automaker looks to expand its presence in Southeast Asia’s largest vehicle market. Until today, Mazda vehicles sold in Indonesia were imported from Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Mazda confirmed that its local distributor, PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, began assembling the model on a dedicated Mazda production line at a plant near the city of Bogor, West Java, just south of Indonesia’s capital city Jakarta. The plant is managed by the distributor’s manufacturing subsidiary, PT Eurokars Produksi Pratama.

To ensure that its locally produced vehicles meet global quality standards, Mazda said it is working closely with PT Eurokars in areas such as personnel development, the provision of production equipment, technical support for vehicle assembly operations, and the supply of components.

The CX-30 is powered by Mazda’s Skyactiv-G 2.0L engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, and is priced at IDR 499 million (US$ 27,700).

Speaking at the production launch event, Mazda’s senior executive officer, Toru Nakajima, said: “Indonesia is a key market for Mazda in the ASEAN region, following Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand in sales volume, and one where we expect continued growth. The start of local assembly of the Mazda CX-30 marks an important milestone in strengthening the Mazda brand and expanding our presence in Indonesia. We aim to further strengthen Mazda’s unique brand value in this market, deepen customer trust, and provide customers with an even richer ownership experience than ever before.

Moving forward, Mazda will work in unison with our business partners to contribute to the continued development of Indonesia’s automotive industry. Guided by our brand value management philosophy, we will offer a product lineup that meets the needs of even more customers and deliver the joy of driving to them, thereby revitalizing our business in Indonesia as one of our key hubs in the ASEAN region.”
