Lexus, Toyota’s up-market vehicle division, unveiled its upgraded NX compact SUV, which is scheduled to be introduced in global markets from the end of 2026. The new model features an all-new hybrid system with enhanced driving performance, as well as refreshed exterior and interior designs and new features.

A newly designed “horizontal themed” interior is said to create an open, relaxed atmosphere, while a new ‘Sensory Concierge’ provides personalised lighting and fragrance to create a relaxing, living room-like atmosphere unique to the NX.

The entry-level NX 300h front-wheel drive (FWD) model features a 2.0L engine with a maximum power output of 110 kW, and a combined hybrid system output of 145 kW. The NX 350h comes with FWD and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, featuring a 2.5L engine with a maximum power output of 140 kW, and a combined hybrid system output of 180 kW.

The top-of-the-range NX 450h AWD model is fitted with a 2.5L engine with a maximum power output of 215 kW, and a combined hybrid system output of 240 kW.

Lexus International’s Chief Engineer, Kunihiko Endo, said in a statement: “We created a simple, clean cockpit, a sporty driving performance further refined through electrification technology, greater flexibility in charging, and a comfortable cabin where occupants can select illumination and fragrances to suit their mood.”

Lexus noted that since the brand was established in 1989, it has achieved 1.9 million units in cumulative sales across more than 90 countries and regions, with the NX being a core model in the global SUV lineup – combining sportiness and utility.
