Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed a loan agreement with Isuzu Motors Corporation for a loan amount of approximately $169m.

This loan is provided to provide funds necessary for the establishment of new production bases for medium and light trucks by Isuzu North America Corporation, Isuzu's US subsidiary.

JBIC said the loan supports Isuzu's expansion of its North American business, enhancing its competitive advantage in the North American market, strengthening the supply chain of Japan's core automotive industry, and contributing to maintaining and improving international competitiveness.

Going forward, JBIC said it will continue to support efforts to strengthen the supply chains of Japanese industries and support Japanese companies' overseas business expansion financially as a public financial institution in Japan.
