Hyundai Motor Turkey (HMTR) plans to build a battery assembly facility at its manufacturing plant in Izmit.
The project is part of a wider €715m ($829.5m) investment programme that also includes production of the IONIQ 3 electric vehicle.
Of that total, €55m has been allocated to the battery facility.
Developed with Hyundai Mobis, the battery plant will cover 30,000m2 and use 27 robots for cell-combining and packaging operations without manual intervention.
More than 300 jobs are expected to be created in the initial phase, the company said in its statement.
HMTR said NMC (nickel, manganese, and cobalt) battery cells will be sourced from Hungary, while lithium iron phosphate (LFP) short-range battery units will come from China.
The company, which has operated in Turkey for close to three decades, is due to start mass production of the IONIQ 3 in August.
The model is scheduled to go on sale in the domestic market in September in two battery and power variants.
HMTR is aiming to produce 27,000 units this year, increasing to more than 40,000 in 2027.
The investment is also designed to support future electric and hybrid vehicle models and to reinforce the domestic supply chain beyond the IONIQ 3 programme.

Separately, Renault recently said it is speeding up the international rollout of Boreal by expanding production in Türkiye.
After its initial launch in Latin America from Curitiba (Brazil), the model is adding a second production hub at the Bursa plant.
Renault said exports from Türkiye will serve markets in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North and Sub-Saharan Africa.
