Harman has introduced what it claims to be the first in-vehicle display powered by Samsung's Neo QLED technology in the new Tata Harrier EV.

This development aims to meet consumer demand for high-quality visual experiences in vehicles, similar to those found in premium televisions and personal devices.

The new 14.53in floating Neo QLED display is designed to provide high-quality visuals in various lighting conditions.

Key features include a cadmium-free Quantum Dot display with intelligent Blue Mini-LED control, which enhances sustainability and energy efficiency while delivering superior visual performance, according to the company.

Harman stated that the display achieves a peak brightness of 1200 nits, offers perfect black levels, and covers a wide 95% NTSC colour gamut, surpassing traditional automotive LCD displays.

Its proprietary real-time visual control algorithms optimise image output to reduce power consumption, making it suitable for electric vehicles.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility chief products officer Anand Kulkarni said: “Together with Harman, we're bringing the best of consumer display innovation in India’s most capable SUV, the recently launched Harrier.ev, transforming it into a true third living space after home and office.”

The display's ultra-slim design, with bezels measuring under 5mm, ensures an immersive viewing experience while adhering to strict automotive durability and safety standards.

This launch builds on the decade-long partnership between Harman and Tata Motors, which initially focused on integrating JBL-branded audio systems in Tata vehicles.

Harman sales vice president Sanjeev Kulkarni said: “Our partnership with Tata Motors spans more than a decade and is built on a like-minded approach to innovation, along with a joint promise to deliver the very best in-cabin experiences to our customers.

“From JBL premium audio to advanced intelligent cockpit solutions, Harman is a defining part of the Tata driving experience. With the introduction of our new display product, we’re proud to take that collaboration even further.”

In March this year, Harman introduced Ready Aware, a vehicle-to-cloud software service that enhances driver safety and situational awareness through real-time contextual insights.
