GM to slash spending on Cruise – report

Follows announcement of scaled back relaunch in single city

Dani Cole November 29 2023

General Motors will cut spending on its autonomous driving unit Cruise, the Financial Times newspaper reports.

It follows an accident in October this year involving a pedestrian, and the recent announcement Cruise would relaunch in a single, unspecified city as the firm looks to regain public trust.

Earlier this month Cruise paused its operations in the US and expanded its safety review after being ordered off public roads by the State of California.
