Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), owned by the newly established holding company Archion Corporation, and Taiwan’s Hon Hai Precision Industry Company (Foxconn), have announced they have reached a final agreement on the specific details of their planned bus manufacturing joint venture in Japan.
The new company, to be called Fuso Bus Company Ltd, is scheduled to be established in the second half of 2026, with MFTBC and Hon Hai each holding 50% of the equity. It will be headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, and will focus on developing, manufacturing, selling, and providing after-sales services for internal combustion engine (ICE) and zero-emission buses in Japan and overseas markets.
The main production base for the joint venture will be MFTBC’s existing bus plant in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, currently managed by Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing Company Ltd (MFBMC).
Fuso Bus Company Ltd will have Katsuto Kora, currently the head of MFBMC, as its CEO, with Kaichiro Fujioka as head of product strategy, Takayuki Ito in charge of R&D; Yoshihito Sasaki responsible for sales in Japan; Ravi Krishnan in charge of international sales, and Charlene Ede as head of corporate strategy.
