Elektrobit has introduced EB tresos AutoCore Light, aimed at advancing the development of cost-effective software for software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
This software is tailored for peripheral electronic control units (ECUs), such as smart sensors and actuators, and is compatible with modern zonal architectures and upgrades of current domain architectures.
Elektrobit says it is leveraging expertise in automotive embedded software and its success with the EB tresos AutoCore to offer a modular, “standards-compliant” solution.
EB tresos AutoCore Light's modular architecture promotes code reuse, streamlines updates, and shortens development time.
Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can utilise this software to integrate smart sensors and actuators into their electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures.
EB tresos AutoCore and EB zoneo offer the software foundation for zonal ECUs.
By consolidating functions into zonal ECUs and tailoring peripheral ECUs without OEM-specific needs, Elektrobit's internal measurements suggest that hardware and research and development (R&D) expenses could be minimised by up to 30% against typical AUTOSAR Basic software.
EB tresos AutoCore Light employs signal-based communication, avoiding the introduction of new complexities, and is Automotive Safety Integrity Level B (ASIL B) ready and Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) certified, ensuring “safe and secure” implementation on constrained hardware.
Elektrobit offers extension packages for customers looking to widen functionality, with tailored add-ons available depending on memory (ROM/RAM) requirements.
The first version of EB tresos AutoCore Light is currently available on select Cortex M0+, M4F, and similar microcontroller platforms, with additional updates anticipated later in the year.
