Dongfeng targets 31% growth in 2026

New NEV models and the launch of the Yijin brand to drive growth.

Chinese state-owned automaker Dongfeng Motor Group announced it is targeting a 31% rise in global sales to 3.25 million vehicles in 2026, up from 2.47 million units in 2025, driven by jump in sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) - comprising mainly battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

The Wuhan-based automaker said it aims to sell 1.7 million NEVs in 2026, a 62% increase compared with the 1.05 million units sold in 2025. Sales under the company’s in-house brands surpassed 1.5 million units last year, accounting for over 60% of sales, with the remainder produced through partnerships with overseas vehicle manufacturers including Stellantis, Nissan and Honda. Dongfeng also said it aims to increase its exports 600,000 units in 2026.

Dongfeng continues to broaden its product portfolio, with the launch of its first smart BEV model under its new Yijin brand developed in collaboration with Huawei scheduled for March. The company established the M-Hero smart off-road vehicle brand in 2022, following the earlier launch of the Voyah premium NEV brand.

Dongfeng’s M-Hero division plans to launch a new sub-brand this year, the U-Series, while new model launches are also planned for under the Voyah brand.
