Chery is looking to bolster its Chery brand offering in the UK and will add a BEV.

Chery in the UK has said it plans to launch four new and updated models for the brand in the next 12 months to drive strategic growth. Chery International is enjoying fast growing sales in the UK car market under a family of brands including Jaecoo, Omoda and Lepas. It is also looking to grow sales under the eponymous Chery brand.

Chery says electrification is at the core of Chery’s product strategy, with the debut of the brand’s first EV and enhancements to its Chery Super Hybrid powertrains.

Since first going on sale in August 2025, Chery has racked up more than 29,000 registrations in the UK.

Alongside the first Chery EV launch will be enhancements to the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system currently offered across the full line-up of Tiggo 4, 7, 8, and 9, which will include larger battery packs offering more electric-range and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

Models equipped with the CSH system account for around 75% of Chery UK’s registrations.

Farrell Hsu, Managing Director at Chery UK, said: “The performance of the Chery brand in the UK in its first year has exceeded our expectations, and the whole team is extremely proud of what’s been achieved in such a short time.

“We also know how competitive the UK market is, and that’s why we’ll be launching four new and enhanced models over the next 12 months – including our first EV and upgraded Chery Super Hybrid vehicles. The investments we’re making in electrification will ensure that we continue to build our brand, appeal to even more customers than before, and ensure our long-term strategic growth.”

Chery also said new models competing in new segments will be instrumental in driving continued success in the UK.

Chery’s new UK R&D Centre of Excellence at the UTAC Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire will also play a pivotal role through customer-focused product development, Chery says.

The engineering team that is being established there now will ‘deepen market understanding still further and accelerate the pace with which product improvements can be introduced, and new features and functions developed.’
