UK-based electric vehicle (EV) charging company, char.gy, has teamed up with Sitetracker to bolster EV charging network expansion across the UK.

This partnership will support char.gy's plan to install over 30,000 public charging points by 2030 leveraging Sitetracker's digital foundation to standardise and expedite char.gy's countrywide deployment process.

The Sitetracker platform will enable char.gy to implement automated workflows for high-volume deployments, gain visibility into project progress, and enhance field productivity with mobile tools.

This collaboration is set to accelerate the development of urban EV infrastructure in the UK, supporting the country's decarbonisation objectives and the global movement towards sustainable transportation.

Char.gy noted that Sitetracker emerged as the preferred choice after a thorough competitive evaluation, offering digital management of the entire asset lifecycle, from initial planning to maintenance.

Sitetracker CEO Giuseppe Incitti said: “We’re thrilled to support their bold vision of transforming how people charge their vehicles in cities. This partnership demonstrates how Sitetracker’s technology helps ambitious companies scale clean energy infrastructure with speed and confidence.”

Char.gy is said to offer EV charging solutions that utilise lampposts, simplifying the process for drivers who lack private parking to charge their vehicles close to their residences.

This approach minimises the need for new infrastructure by utilising current street fixtures, thereby facilitating the creation of charging networks that are available in densely populated city areas.

With an existing network of more than 3,600 charging points, char.gy is poised for rapid expansion and sought a platform to support large-scale deployments.

char.gy chief operating officer Alastair Woods said: “char.gy was built to make EV charging simple and accessible for everyone. As we scale from thousands to tens of thousands of charging points, Sitetracker is the operational backbone we need. Their platform provides the visibility and control required to deliver fast, efficient rollouts while maintaining the quality our communities depend on.”
