BYD has confirmed the Ti7 model for the UK market. The seven-seat SUV, which BYD says is already a hugely successful model globally for the company, will cater for larger families and those with an active lifestyle.

The SUV is seen as a competitor to the Land Rover Defender.

Measuring 5,146mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,865mm tall, the Ti7 houses three rows of seating and a generous load space.

The car also features BYD’s Dual Mode Performance (DM-p) plug-in hybrid powertrain. Drive comes courtesy of a two electric motors driving all four wheels, plus a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which translates into a 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds and an electric combined (WLTP) range of 79 miles.
