Automotive supplier Brose said it was expanding its product range to include an acoustic warning system for electrified vehicles.

"Starting in 2026, the family owned company will equip several million electric and hybrid vehicles in Europe and North America with the new product," the supplier said without elaborating.

Brose has developed its own AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) which generates artificial driving noises at speeds below 50km/h (30mph) and meets legislative requirements.

The mechatronics specialist said it drew on its expertise in acoustics and electronics including development of sound boxes for door modules.

The module's wide frequency range of 200 to 5,000 hertz was said ti enable "high-quality driving noises and individual sound designs".

Thanks to the use of innovative simulation tools, development was completed in just a few months.
