Blink Charging has entered into a strategic partnership with eMobility interoperable charging solutions provider Hubject.

The agreement will add Blink as a charge point operator (CPO) within Hubject’s intercharge eRoaming platform, increasing charging network options for eMobility Service Providers (eMSPs) and their clients throughout Canada, Mexico, and the US.

The alliance is poised to bolster Hubject's presence in the North American market.

Once integration is complete, Hubject's network of eMSPs and CPO partners will receive access to the charging infrastructure of Blink, potentially leading to rise in the usage of Blink's stations by customers who are part of Hubject's platform.

The integration process will employ industry-standard protocols, such as Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI), to guarantee secure communication between Blink's charging stations and Hubject's eMSP partners.

The partnership will also facilitate standardised billing and settlement processes through the implementation of Hubject's OCPI protocol, offering advantages to both eMSPs and Blink as the new CPO partner.

Blink Charging CEO and president Mike Battaglia said: “Connecting the Blink Network to Hubject’s platform, will allow more drivers to benefit from interoperable charging while traveling.

“This agreement underscores our ongoing dedication to accelerating electric mobility while creating growth opportunities for Blink and value for our customers.”

The deployment is scheduled to be implemented in stages throughout this year. Complete integration anticipated by the end of 2025, contingent upon the achievement of technical and operational milestones.

Hubject North America CEO Trishan Peruma said: "Our collaboration with Blink marks an important step in expanding our North American intercharge network.

“Blink's comprehensive approach to charging infrastructure, spanning from Level 2 workplace solutions to high-power DC fast charging, is well aligned with our mission to advance seamless charging experiences. By integrating Blink's network into our eRoaming platform, we' aim to help reduce barriers that have historically complicated EV charging and to support the continued growth of EV adoption across the United States, Canada, and Mexico."

Recently, Blink Charging became a part of the Paua platform, a leading service in the UK for EV charging options tailored for fleets and businesses.
