Applied Intuition, a vehicle software supplier, has entered a partnership with LG Innotek aimed at supporting autonomous vehicle development.

The arrangement is intended to fine-tune Applied Intuition’s Self Driving System (SDS) so it operates effectively with LG Innotek’s camera, lidar and radar sensors.

Applied Intuition co-founder and CEO Qasar Younis said: “Autonomous vehicles will only scale if the hardware and software ecosystems evolve together.

“By working directly with LG Innotek, we are making it easier for automakers to evaluate sensors, validate performance in simulation and on real roads, and ultimately move autonomy systems from development into production.”

Under the collaboration, LG Innotek’s sensors will be installed on Applied Intuition’s autonomous development vehicles across its global test fleet.

Operating in multiple regions, the vehicles are expected to generate perception feedback and reference data that can be used to assess and improve sensor performance.

The companies also plan to extend the effort into virtual development.

LG Innotek will add digital models of its sensors – covering cameras, lidar and radar – into Applied Intuition’s simulation environment, allowing automakers to test sensor behaviour in simulated scenarios.

The partners said this should speed up iteration and reduce the engineering burden of integrating sensor hardware and autonomy software sourced from different suppliers.

LG Innotek said it pursued the partnership to obtain real-world perception performance feedback to support advances in its sensing technology for autonomous driving.

It also said it aims to widen business opportunities by offering integrated solutions that include software.

Using Applied Intuition’s software platform and experience running autonomy tests globally, LG Innotek plans to run its own autonomous test vehicles in Korea.

The companies expect this to shorten the development cycle for new, more complex sensing solutions currently in development.

Applied Intuition introduced SDS for passenger vehicles in August 2025.

SDS for Automotive is described as a comprehensive end-to-end white box autonomy stack solution specifically designed for passenger vehicles.
