Former VP of autonomous driving at Chinese EV maker Xpeng, Wu Xinzhou, has announced they are joining US multinational technology company Nvidia, overseeing automotive products.

With a team of over 1,000 engineers, Wu led Xpeng’s self-driving projects since 2018.

Wu’s background includes leadership roles at Qualcomm, working in autonomous driving, precise positioning, V2X communication, and wireless networking.

Chinese automakers like Xpeng are major Nvidia chip consumers for their smart vehicle systems.

Xpeng is enhancing its driver assistance software, aiming to offer all functions to Chinese drivers by 2024, competing against US rival Tesla.
