Vietnamese automotive brand VinFast has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Durango Drivers’ Union to electrify public transport in Mexico.

The collaboration includes the potential purchase of 3,000 VF 5 electric cars and 300 electric buses for operation in Mexico, aligning with the global trend towards electric vehicle adoption.

The strategic partnership between VinFast and the Durango Drivers’ Union, member of the Confederation of Mexico Workers (CTM), will involve negotiations for the sale of VF 5 electric vehicles and electric buses.

These vehicles are intended to replace the current gasoline-powered fleet used for public passenger transport in Durango City.

VinFast, alongside its affiliate V-Green, and CTM will explore the establishment and operation of a comprehensive charging network.

This initiative aims to facilitate the widespread use of electric vehicles and buses in Durango.
