Bridgestone is to start a new sales company in Vietnam as Indochina’s transport network continues to grow.
The new operation will be known as Bridgestone Tyre Sales Vietnam (BSTVN) and will be based in Ho Chi Minh City.
A statement from Bridgestone said: “The Bridgestone Group sees Indochina as one of its most strategic growth areas. As one of Indochina’s transportation and logistics hubs, Vietnam is seeing stable and continuous economic growth as well as a steady increase in tyre demand.
“Bridgestone expects demand in this area will continue to grow as the transportation network in the region continues to grow, connecting Indochina from east to west and north to south through Vietnam.
Sales of passenger cars in Vietnam grew in February, with deliveries rising 57% to 1,615 units.
