Vibracoustic has opened its new Material Development Centre in Weinheim, Germany, with 25 material staff supporting new prototype compounds and conducting testing in the 2,200 square metre facility.
In the new lab staff can carry out analytical and physical material analysis as well as corrosion tests.
A rheology laboratory is included, which evaluates and refines the deformation and flow characteristics of materials, both solids and liquids.
In the prototyping area, new raw compounds are developed, small batches of compounds are mixed and vulcanised on the spot to conduct further testing.
Furthermore, a Micro Cellular Urethane (MCU) shot machine can conduct tests and produce prototypes of microcellular foam material.
