Contract assembler Valmet Automotive manufactured a total of 114,000 vehicles at the Uusikaupunki, Finland plant in 2019 – a new record for the company.

The previous record was sete in 2018, when 110,000 vehicles were completed. In recent years, the production volumes at the Uusikaupunki plant have been steadily growing as the A-Class – assembled for Mercedes-Benz – has ramped up.

Valmet says the the total of 114,000 vehicles makes a strong case for' Valmet Automotive's flexibility and continuous growth'. Production volumes at the Uusikaupunki plant have been steadily rising since 2013. The production is based on scalable manufacturing services, ranging from small volume vehicles to premium high-volume products.

The Valmet Uusikaupunki plant assembles the GLC and A-Class models for Mercedes, the two models being flexibly produced on the same line.
