Dow Jones reports that IBM has agreed to take over ‘most’ of the computer operations of Visteon in an outsourcing deal valued at more than $2 billion over 10 years.
The report adds that the deal is expected to be announced today and its scale makes it one of IBM’s larger outsourcing contracts.
Dow Jones says that Visteon – spun off from Ford in 2000 – currently uses Ford computer systems for its operations and the arrangement will complete its operational separation from Ford.
The report says that under the deal, IBM will take over operations including data centres and help desks and a number of Visteon employees will transfer to IBM.
