Valeo’s Valeo Electrical Systems subsidiary in North America is to close the Rochester, New York, wiper systems mabufacturing facility in the light of the rapidly worsening financial situation of the plant.
Discussions have been opened with the IUE-CWA union in order to reach an agreement on the implementation and effects of the decision to close the facility.
The rapidly deteriorating situation is primarily due to the dramatic reduction in business for the plant.
Valeo said it would remain a major supplier of wiper systems in North America and production will continue in other existing company facilities.
