Wabash National plans to add approximately 150 hourly workers to meet growing production needs. This is the second time since February 2004 that the truck trailer maker has added new staff, bringing the total number of new recruits during 2004 to over 400 people.

Wabash president and CEO William Greubel said: “The trailer industry continues to see growth in order activity. Despite volatile raw material prices, including steel, lumber and aluminium, trailer demand is being fuelled by pent-up replacement demand and continued improvement in economic activity.

“We have seen an increase in recent trailer demand while expectations for demand in 2005 remains markedly stronger. As a result, we plan to increase our production rates in the third quarter.”
