TI Automotive has been awarded contracts by three major auto manufacturers to supply fluid-carrying lines for five new vehicle lines.
Combined sales for the new contracts from DaimlerChrysler, Ford and Nissan total nearly $US100 million, the supplier said in a statement. Production for the unspecified model lines in North America and Europe is scheduled to begin next spring.
Fuel-filler tubes using 436 stainless steel for two new vehicle contracts will be handled by the company’s plant in Ashley, Indiana. TI Automotive recently introduced 436 stainless steel as a high performance, cost-effective material for fill-pipe applications.
Brake and fuel bundles, including tubing, nuts and hoses, quick connects, holders and clips for another contract will be produced at a TI Automotive facility in Washington, north-east England, not far from Nissan’s UK Micra/Primera plant.
Contracts that include brake and fuel bundles as well as EGR tubing, will be supplied by TI Automotive locations in Mexico.
