Detroit Office Will Service Auto Manufacturer and Dealer Clients

The Cobalt Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:CBLT), a leading provider of Internet-based business-to-business services to the automotive industry, today announced that Chuck Russo has joined the company as vice president of account services and general manager-Detroit, bringing more than 20 years of automotive marketing experience to Cobalt.

Russo is charged with opening Cobalt’s offices in Detroit and will oversee a team of 50 people who will service auto manufacturers and dealers.

“Chuck is a valuable addition to Cobalt’s management team, bringing not only extensive experience and knowledge of the automotive industry, but the Internet as well. Chuck will play a key leadership role as we establish a physical presence in Detroit,” said John Holt, president and CEO of The Cobalt Group. “Chuck has spent his entire career working with large auto makers and dealer networks and this experience will help Cobalt deepen its service offerings across the nation.”

Prior to joining The Cobalt Group, Russo was senior vice president, group director for the Net connection department at FCB Worldwide, Inc. (formerly Bozell Worldwide, Inc.), responsible for managing business-to-business and online advertising development. FCB’s interactive accounts include DaimlerChrysler, Coleman, Warner Bros., Comedy Central and ShopVac. Previously, Russo held several positions at FCB on the Chrysler advertising account.

Russo has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri — Columbia. He reports to Cobalt’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Account Services Terry Smail.
