A symposium on “Doing Business in Today’s Russia” with an automotive focus will be held October 10 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.
A four-member panel will discuss opportunities in Russia for auto suppliers – in the context of recent business, economic and political developments there.
Speakers include:
James Hitch III, Managing Partner of Baker & McKenzie in St Petersburg. Hitch will speak about new legal issues affecting foreign investors in Russia, including incentives available for manufacturers in the auto industry.
Dr Lev Lester, Vice President of Haden International Group in Detroit, which exported over $100 million to Russia in 1999. Dr Lester will discuss his work in Russia’s auto industry, while offering guidelines on conducting business there.
Dr Trevor Gunn, Director of Business Information Services for the Newly Independent States at the US Commerce Department; and adjunct professor in the Center for East Europe and Russia in the School of Foreign Services at Georgetown University. Dr Gunn will talk about financing transactions in Russia.
