The Los Angeles Auto Show has hired public relations firm Rogers & Associates to “help maximise the auto show’s strategic date change from early January to mid-November, beginning in 2006,” according to a statement.

Media days for the final January show are January 4 and 5, 2006 while public days are January 6 to 15. The 2007 show will run from December 1 to 10 2006 with media days on November 29 and 30.

“The move to November enables the show to occupy its own niche on the auto show calendar and provides automakers with improved opportunities for the introduction of new vehicles and concepts in Los Angeles,” the statement said.

“The change in dates addresses a longstanding desire of the industry for the LA Auto Show to have its own time slot away from the Detroit auto show and to avoid the Christmas and New Year holiday period.”
